Seddon Festival in the Park - 2007

This year’s Seddon Festival in the Park was held through intermittent
rain and warm bursts of sunshine to entertain the gathering crowds.
 
   Event organisers managed to coordinate what turned out to be quite an
   extraordinary show of community support digging deep to raise over $700
   for the local State Emergency Services and Seddon Community Group.
 
   Thanks to all our local businesses who contributed prizes to the various
   winners of the Snapshots of Seddon Photo Competition.  Thank you also to
   our food vendors: Gravy Train, Le Chien, Touks, Olivessence, Delizia
   Cucina, Footscray 5th Scouts Group and Somerville Cellars who served up
   some delicious tastings for festival patrons.
 
   Once again the Seddon Community Group would like to acknowledge the
   support of the following entities, who without their support the
   festival would not exist;
 
   Our annual benefactor the City of Maribyrnong (and the MetroAccess
   initiatives), our principal sponsor Gravy Tran Café Restaurant, and
   major sponsors Mortgage Choice Seddon, Bendigo Bank Footscray, Melbourne
   Bus Link, Jas H. Stephens Real Estate, Compton and Green Real Estate and
   Seddon Therapies.
 
   There are too many people to thank individually in this message but I
   would particularly like to single out the many volunteers from the
   Seddon Community Group who continue to shuffle work, family and personal
   commitments to bring you an awesome gathering of talent and fun.  Our
   three MC’s for the day: Andrew Morello, Dave O’Neil and Wil Stracke did
   a marvellous job informing patrons of the day’s proceedings - a job
   sometimes done under rather impromptu circumstances.
 
   Our local musical talent continued to enlighten us.  The debut of
   teenage band Head Under Ground was a credit to the many hours of
   preparation and rehearsal everyone put in to make it a great day.  It
   was a terrific effort.
